Guess Intel didn't plan it that way. I see an XFX GeForce 7950 GX2 for just over $400 bucks yesterday at Memory Express in the return from RMA bin. And the BFG still there also, so cross a couple fingers also. An ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium there also, maybe one I return? I see their website is listing some new boxed mobility Core 2 Duo's in T5500, T5600, T7200 and T7400 flavors so I suspect the desktops will soon follow.

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/15 01:21It supposed to be faster then other nForce 680i chipsets but again its having the same issue as the other nForce 680i mainboards, some work some just don't quite work. So far the only stable NVIDIA chipset for Intel is the nForce 4 but it doesn't support the Core 2 Duo's.

Re:Question about all those Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's... - 2007/01/27 18:53so , new system arrived some days ago , but with some problems , my rams wasnīt at stock so i buyd for the time my ram is at stock 2x512mb ddr2 667 kingston hyperx modules ..
the 2 geforce 8800gtx xxx editions arrived , i tested the cards at my old system , i only get artifacts , the cards getting so hot i put off the pc and send the cards back for rma ..
now , i have BIG problems with the evga 680i board .. i work now since 2 hours on the problem , not found a solution yet
my 7900gx2 didnīt worked at this board , dunno why ... i see boot screen with detecting drives , after that , my screen is black , blacker as black no more connection to the card says the monitor .. windows starts like the sounds my harddrive makes ..
now online at a 2mb pci card i thought , it was the bios modification , so i build out my other 7900gx2 from my work pc and tested it , same
so ... i will now read a bit , read forums and more and hope i found a solution .. when not ..

i found now a solution , a bullshit solution but it works now and i hope evga answer me for a rma if this board have a error or brings out a update that works , most of evga 680i users wrote in the community , for one guy p23 works fine and with 24 only problems , for others p21 works as best all other have errors ...
so i think , one board running , one not ..
my bullshit solution at short story
put in a old pci card put out the gx2 boot in windows downgrade bios to p20 shutdown put in the gx2 boot in safe mode install nvidia drivers boot in normal mode disable the pci card and the second monitor it "works"
i must disable the pci card in windows , why ? when i enable it , the multigpu mode isnīt working now its working fine for the time i wait for an answer or i wait for my 2 8800gtx cards ( i hope then , THIS cards works )
but for now , i run at stock cpu and shit ram timings the bios sets the timings to CL5 oO someone can say me what i must change speak tr.. tras and all the other to set the rams to DDR2-667 with CL3 4-4-4-1 ?
at the msi it worked fine with the ddr500 and auto settings , and other , i changed this in windows when i want better timings , but when i look at the bios from the evga and see all those memory settings , i getting confused
the board is fine , ok , it have this error but i found a way to go aroung this error and i hope evga will fix it
i cannot upload a 3dm06 coz it says submission failed , i will try it later and see if it works , but for that i see i think the E6600 goes a bit better or same as my old x2 @ 3ghz
with the different , now i only have 1gb of ram , i hope my ram arrives me so i can kick out those kingston ram

Windows starts in background and the board shows FF code, so all in the background is working but I only see no picture... And yes, I tried each damn BIOS from this board, from P19 to P24, inclusive RH BIOS and beta BIOS. For the time now it works , and no its not a solution too to use only one ram, the ram is working.

But damn stable board, with the BIOS they recommend to flash too. Strange you have so much trouble with the EVGA model. I hope it works out, maybe a lemon, it happens...
