GeForce 7300 GS, extra performance with BIOS flashing? - 2007/01/01 02:10 Right... I've got a BFG GeForce 7300GS and wanted to flash it to a GeForce 7300 GT or better but it won't work. After flashing to the GeForce 7300 GT BIOS and restarting all I get is blue lines and pretty patterns lol... No errors when flashing by the way. So flashed back to my backup BIOS and downloaded a GeForce 7600 BIOS and that didn't work either. Any ideas why this is? Thanks...

Re:GeForce 7300 GS, extra performance with BIOS flashing? - 2007/01/01 13:19 And who gave you the idea you can flash a GeForce 7300 GS to something else? Just wondering cause for me it does sound quite strange that someone would even try it, just like that. And it is absolutely normal you get those strange stuff on your screen! So why did you try it? Can you let us know... Cause really if you are just trying things then you are already lucky the card didn't suffer permanent damage!

First of all the GeForce 7300 GS comes in default configuration with DDR2 memory. While the GeForce 7300 GT can come with DDR2 or GDDR3 memory. So depending on what you have tried this mismatch in memory would have caused those blue lines and so on. And with the GeForce 7600 series the same applies. So really why did you try and what exactly? Cause you should pay attention to those things, and find a BIOS that might match your GeForce 7300 GS...

Just a quicky.. my card has a memory interface of 64bit can that be changed to 128 with a diffrent bios or is that the hardware and cannot be changed?
