Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/16 22:58 Sorry, I don't mean to butt in and I won't confuse you, but you should still have some sort of warranty or support with your builder. I fully support until I'm sure my customer has a stable system, and 100% satisfied with their purchase. Get them to address your concerns as it sounds like the system is not very old. And stay on the forums, this one in particular will teach you a lot, I hope it works out good luck. I have had hardware start to fail before its time, its common and those components will have manufacturers warranty also.

Hello, yeah I'm trying to find the people who sold the computer to me today. Hope they'll help me fix it...cause I think they just like to trick people and rip them off. And yeah, this forum is really cool I'm reading different kind of stuff, thanks for your advice.

No problem young mate, I hope you didn't get ripped off, though it happens, it may just be a driver conflict or a program that was recently installed and removing them is a way to start trouble shooting, last resort is reinstalling Windows to try and fix it. And yes there are some great people here that are very willing to help especially a future techie such as yourself, hang in there.
oh.and the guys that run this site ,i don't know if they are Engineers or what but they know their stuff.

Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/17 05:21 Oh, I phoned the dude...they said it might have something to do with the RAM, do you know why, any clues?

Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/17 09:15 Ram is known to fail at any given point and for no real reason... Same reason a car dies, guess just wear and tear. Though system memory usually last a long time. But I've had sticks just die on me. I hope all gets sorted out for ya.

Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/17 10:07 There I guess it is possible, though with never overclocking... I mean your machine is running stock, funny for ram to just go bad. Be nice to have some one you trust check it out with other ram, if you have two sticks or one, if two remove one and run the machine, then switch and try again. I had a similar issue, many pointed at my ram but both sticks did the same thing, turned out to be a weak motherboard. Cause I had 2 the same and that fixed my issues.

I have a number of machines so I can check, I hope your friend will be nice and check for you. You don't live in Edmonton Alberta, Canada by chance. I would check for you, again should have some warranty as its not very old, correct? And the guy should help you out, I'm sure you gave him some nice cash to custom build your rig, and yes any kind of electronics can fail, no reason. That's why I support for some time after I build just for that reason.

I have no problem to RMA some hardware, cost nothing other than postage, and a little time. Is it possible to see what kind of ram you have, one or two sticks, and manufactures name, some are garanteed for life. This is a fairly new computer its not supposed to just die, but they make alot so a bad one may slip through, and its uncommon for both to go bad at the same time. In ten years I had one stick failure. Motherboards have lots of stuff that can fail.

I hope the guy gave you your manuals and CD's for your motherboard, video card, Windows CD even, though some just install what they have, on the hard drive. No disk, the motherboard manual will show you how to remove your memory, but try to get your builder to help and please keep us posted.

Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/17 10:21 Yeps, I would just get to the system builder and let him check it out. And if he feels it is the memory that might be the cause, then, let him replace it with some new sticks and that you try it then. If that works, the better. If it doesn't then it might be other components like the mainboard... But certainly if you experience problems with a new computer, the one that put it together should support you to get it running as it should.

Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/23 07:04 Hello, sorry I haven't talked for a while. I took the PC to the place where I bought it. They checked the graphics card and said something about memory inside it isn't working. So now they gave me a new one, and hopefully it'll work without hanging etc. Thanks!

Re:GeForce 7600 GT problem, system crash and reboots? - 2006/12/23 10:52 I hope it works out for the better. They don't have it fixed yet? If they know the problem should be a quick to fix...keep us posted.

They gave a new card, so it is fixed. And the shop will just return the cards to his reseller for RMA. Shop newer try to fix a graphics card, if it doesn't work as it should they just return it and get a new replacement card themselves. So why go through any trouble of fixing anything when most likely you will not be able to fix it if the memory is not working as it should on the card. Easier to just replace as they have done. Well I hope all works well now.
