Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/21 07:48 Yeah,so i get my x6800, quad sli up, finally ,couple benchs ,couple random reboots, gets worse, don't want to boot sometimes so i call the store,Memory Express ,Edmonton, they say bring the board in to test ,get to the store ,servicetech tells me the
"ASUS P5N32 SLI PREMIUM on the 590 chipset has been recalled"
,Across the board ,so he takes my month old board and orders me a 680i ,Sweet, was gonna upgrade anyway but i'm kinda worried about the frequensie of faulty high end hardware ,and i'm not the only one ,maybe pushing this stuff too fast, the clearance bin is full of rma recertified parts numbers of asus boards and such,HuMMMMM.maybe just couple of random flukes
didn't see anything on asus site regarding the recall though, maybe that will change soon?
maybe i'll get this damn,#%$%^&*()(@! thingy complete oneday, LOL

Re:Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/21 15:04 welll maybe you wise up and not buy asuks boards and go real boards ... like the 680i from evga ... but that sucks that your board didnt work but the 590 mbs were a bit flaky

Re:Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/21 20:39 Good morning , hey Raptor i Hard learner ,stay with intel right through ,yes! your right ,the guy from memory express just call 10minutes ago got me an evga 680i waiting for pick up ,so be at it today ,LOL

was Gigabyte fan for mobo for ever, try the asus few times now, and i'm not impressed will try evga now ,maybe never get much wiser ,Lol ,getting old already.hehe.....

Re:Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/22 02:19 my evga nf4 intel was an awsome board . while most said it wasnt goin to clock my 805 past 3.7 i proved em wrong and clockit to 4.2 . so if the 680i is half as good as there nf4 intel its goin to ROCK ......

Re:Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/22 06:54 Yes i see your little 805 kickin some serious clocks, makin me think i should try my 840 EE in one of the evga boards with 2 x 512 6800 ultra i still have in backup ,in an ASUX board p5n32 sli delux ,another troublesome board 2x 16 pcie slots and doesn't perform as well as the gigabyte GA-8N-sli Royal, i started sli with a year ago + with 2 x 8 slots in SLI. , did you get lucky and score a reference sample of cherry pickin proportions or wtf ? mavke little e6300 core 2 duo kicks ass also i'm gonna give up on Extreme Editions oneday ,if its not too late for me Lol.

Re:Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/22 07:14 Huh, i'm just lookin at my corsair xms2 twin2x2048-6400pro 2 x 1 gig at 800 MHz package and it has a sticker as recomended for nforce 4 sli intel edition platform memory developement and launch partner ,so i may get lucky abit here also, somthing one should consider when assembling a system based on a platform such as nforce i guess,
talkin to a tech today, says i can put a third 8800 series card in this board for havoc physics, hehe, don't have 1 or 2 yet but i'll keep it in mind, though ,Lol but then i would need the ageia physics card that supports ,their physics so you need 3 high end video cards and a physics tobe able to play all games full tilt .....both to support the phsics in the game your gonna be playing cause they don't support each other ,this is gonna be stupid for we gamers and such.

Re:Faulty Hardware LUCKY again? - 2006/11/22 23:24 your memory should do just fine it was optimized for the chipset of the time , and at that time it was a nf4 intel . the 680i should clock it nicly . but if you running 6800 C2d i go with 1000 or higher rated memory . the 840's isnt a joke of a cpu either they definetly give most cpu's a good run for their money .... as far as physics and all that personally for the lil gain you get on the Less then handful games that support it its not worth the price .... a good sli set up or crossfire set up will do just as good .....
