Radeon X1950 CrossFire compressor cooled problems... - 2006/11/08 12:34
Hello there, I read your guides and forums and was very pleased to see that someone is putting so much work into ATI BIOS's and stuff. I think i'm right here. My problem is, I've got two Radeon X1950 XTX's (XTX and CrossFire Master) compressor cooled on an ASUS P5W DH mainboard. Both cards worked well with air cooling... Well, my cards aren't cold bugged for sure (10900 3DMark06 score at default, CrossFire enabled, Core 2 Extreme X6800 at 2.93GHz, VGA scores under -40°C loaded readout with newest RivaTuner).
If I try to overclock one card, there is no problem to reach even 850MHz at the core with only 1.5 core voltage. I used ATiTool v.0.0.25 for overclocking and voltage and RivaTuner for monitoring. But with two cards running, even 2MHz more at the cores (two profiles loaded, one for each card) will crash the system as soon a set them with ATITool. My thought was flashing the cards with new BIOS's, but I can't do a backup, newest version of FlashROM shows adapter not found (even with only one card put in).
The Radeon X1950 XTX BIOS I found here can only be opened with RaBIT (realtime clocking works if I put only one card in, even if its the Master card and I'm editing the XTX BIOS), but core and RAM clocking is very limited (722MHz core and 16xxMHz at the RAM which is below the default clocking. Can someone please help me with this thing? I think BIOS Flashing would be a nice way to solve this problem; but I need a tool to backup the two BIOS and another tool to edit them properly to 850MHz core and 2200MHz RAM with max. Vcore. Thanks in advance...
