Re:How to:Overclock an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor!? - 2006/11/07 20:37 Hummm, makes me think I may be able to take my X6800 higher than the 1.45V that I used so far to reach 3505MHz. I get different temp readings from various sensors the one on the water cooler I've seen at 34°C. Everest reports three different temps, CPU, Core #1 and Core #2. The CPU is around same as (AINOS) ASUS mainboard utility report and sensor on CPU cooler, but both cores report temps from 38-40°C to as high as 62°C.

I would like to know which is more inportant to monitor? How high can these two cores go as well as the CPU itself? Can I try like 1.6-1.65V, without harming my CPU? I've still a little work on the H2O cooling, can't find the BlackPearl coolers for the GX2 locally, so I may have to go for Danger Den or Koolance. Good luck on the SLI for Intel project.

Re:How to:Overclock an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor!? - 2006/11/07 20:48 With 1.45V I can go to 3.5GHz easily, but I would be real careful on your voltages, you should be able to reach 4GHz ( thats a big if) if your mainboard can handle those speeds. So far the only limiting thing on my setup is the memory. On NVIDIA chipsets thats a really a big if... Okay, me I would go in between Everest and the probe. So lets say your probe is at 34°C I would venture to say you are around 40°C idle ( which seems a little hot for water cooling). I would start finding out why its getting so warm mine is at 29°C idle and 35°C load (by MSI dual core center).

With your CPU you shouldn't need 1.45V to get the CPU to 3.5GHz, I say drop the voltage a tad to 1.41V and see if Windows loads... Oh I dont think I will be going NVIDIA but rather staying with ATI CrossFire...for now.

Okay, but normally the Core 2 Duo E6300 runs at 1.3-1.325V at default. So by going already to 1.425V that is already a nice increase. How high did you set the voltage for your E6400 to reach 3.5GHz?

My memory is not the problem as I have DDR2-1000. So would you go to 1.45V for hitting more? My goal is to reach +3.0GHz on my Core 2 Duo E6300. If I can reach that I will go in some weeks to buy a Core 2 Duo E6600.

you be just as good with a 6400 theres not much difference between the 2 even tho the 6600 on up has the 4 meg cache . ok Firstly Mavke you know the drill i go get a better cooling solution for the Cpu and Nb First before cranking the volts higher , normally for the Nb a fan just placed on it can do the job nicly as far as cpu tho i look into a Coolmaster Hyper 6 + or something comparable i am currently running that cpu cooler and my temps are in the 30's ... i dont tink your memroy is holding u up ( unless you tightened it up then it will )

Actually I want the 4MB cache version but at the time a bought the E6300 there was only those in stock... I will just out the Zalman CNPS9700 on it, as that should give better cooling for the processor itself.
