ASRock mainboard and BIOS nightmare, help wanted?! - 2006/10/31 00:51 Hello, I am having some issues with my ASRock 775VM800 BIOS settings. My problems began when I decided to do a fresh reinstall of Windows XP and found I couldn't boot from disk. I went into the BIOS to check the boot priority. This is where I find the first problem. On the boot screen it says, boot device priority states a device enclosed in parenthesis has been diabled in the corresponding type menu.

The next problem is in the IDE configuration where it states secondary IDE master is CD-Rom. I checked the BIOS manual and everything is in order except these two issues. Could they be related to the fact that I can't boot from disk. I have a bad feeling that in my attempt to change the boot priority I have done something I shouldn't. Any help will be much appreciated.

Re:ASRock mainboard and BIOS nightmare, help wanted?! - 2006/10/31 12:09 Just wondering what you mean with couldn't start from disk... Do you mean the hard disk? Or do you mean from the CD-Rom? I find it a bit unclear what you tried to do. In your boot priority you should have as first device the CD-Rom and as second the hard disk...

Re:ASRock mainboard and BIOS nightmare, help wanted?! - 2008/01/15 18:53 Do you see your hard drive in the BIOS? You always can load default settings. Can you write your problem again so that we can understand it better, a bit more detailed?

Well getting more details is exactly what I have asked if you read my previous post... If you can't really add more information to solve a problem or question or a real solution on what shoudl be checked it does add a lot of value repeat somehow what I mentioned... First we need to know, a bit more details.
