Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/04 10:02 Hay all and thanks for looking, anyway im seeming to have a problem gertting a stable 2.6ghz and up with my Athlon 64 3700+ skt 939. when i hit those speeds windows will boot fine and all but sometimes out of nowhere it will Blue screen and wich says the main part anyway "IRQ_not_less_ir_equal" also at other times it will say "pfn_list_corrupt". my rig right now is the following:
Athlon 64 3700+ skt 939--Pny 6800GT AGP--ABIT-AV8(motherboard)--- 2X1GIG OF Corsair XMS---sound blaster live---Seagate barracuda 120gb Sata---Sony CDrw/dvd rom--- all powerd by a Thermatake 480watt PSU and cooled by a thermaltake Venus 12. First i will tell you for sure my temps are absolutly fine and my ram is also, Any ideas? thanks oh one more thing is that ive raised the vcore voltage from stock 1.4 to 1.55 and still no go

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/05 21:37 well after trying much time ive come to 2 conclusions 1. my cpu just insn't physically able to hit 2.6ghz or 2. my power supply sucks.

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/05 22:36 what are your system specs and current settings plus temps and what do you have it at right now ... those cpu's can do more just need some finessing

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/05 23:37 Specs:
Athlon 64 3700+ curently running stock 2.2ghz cooled by venus 12
Abit AV8 motherboard
Pny 6800GT AGP cooled by Nvsilencer rev 2
2x 1gig sticks of corsair XMS platinum series 3200c2pt
Seagate barracuda 120gb Sata
sony cd/dvd rom
Thermaltake 480watt PSU
current idle temp is 35c for the cpu and video card idle is 48c. again no overclocking is odne on they cpu or video card.

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/06 04:19 ok here are tips for you . firstly keep the Htt at round 800 - 1000 ( Ldt multiplier ) how to get htt freqs is simple take Fsb x by ldt = htt ( set the Ldt multi at 3 for now ) . also give your chipset volts 1.9 is best if you got good cooling , but 1.8 would be ok . give your memory Volts as well 2.8 - 2.9 is safe setting as most ram can handle this amount . on cpu voltage set it at 1.4 ( LEAVE IT AT THIS FOR Now ) then set your memory to 2.5,3,3,7 then up your fsb by 3 reboot load windows run super pi @ 1 million if it completes reboot enter bios up fsb by 3 again ( every 12 freqs you up on fsb run super pi @ 4 million and run 3dmark 05 and 06 complete ) do this until super pi no longer completes ( giving you an error ) if error back clocks off by 3 .... CHECK YOUR TEMPS CONSTANTLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if above 50 full load STOP !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/06 06:34 well put my FSB multiplier to 3 and AM3 will get to main menue then crash with an error message um my ram voltage is at 2.8 um not sure if im supposerd to but my Hyper transport voltage i left stock at 1.2... all other voltages are cranked accept Vcore.

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/06 10:51 well. tried using a different bios revision and still no luck. i can run windows fine and all but 3dmark05 will crash to windows. my FSB is 711. my voltages im currently running are the following:cpu core=1.4(stock)
north bridge core=1.65(maxed
south bridge vore=2.6(maxed)
Hyper transport=1.2(stock)
dimm=2.8(maxed)
and my memory timings are 3-3-3-8.
Should i give the Hyper transport voltahe more voltage? maybe give the cpu core more voltage? my temps are idle 31c with side panel off in a somewhat cool room. oiii so confused

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/06 17:50 max out the Ldt volts ( hypertransport ) . them are really low voltage settings on the nb ......

Re:Trying to get stable 2.6+ ghz - 2006/08/06 18:45 Put an higher voltage on the cpu. some cpu will eb able to run stock 1.4v t 2.6ghz, some other will not be able. My 3800+ 2.4ghz, was abel to run at 2.75ghz, with 1.52v...
