NiBiTor can only change core voltages not memory voltages. This is because memory voltage is not controlled in the BIOS.
My box has the same thing. I got the GTX indication on the sides, and GTO on the front. Will post my BIOS tonight after I get the kids down. Pictures of my box included... The change is done with a sticker!

Re:Who saw or owns a GeForce 7900 GTO card...? - 2006/10/08 03:46 Where do I find the NVIDIA BIOS, and what is the file name? ATI provides a folder, looks like the NVIDIA installs to the Windows and then the System32 folder.

You will not find your BIOS this way. The BIOS is stored in an EEPROM on your VGA card. You need i.e. NiBiTor to extract it into a file. Your pictures don't work for me.

Re:Who saw or owns a GeForce 7900 GTO card...? - 2006/10/08 05:51 When I run NiBiTor, and go to File, Open BIOS, it asks me where to find the BIOS, and I do not know where to tell it to look.

Just to give some details, the BIOS is never installed on the PC! Neither is that the fact with ATI cards. The BIOS is a chip on the graphics card that has the basic functions to let the card do its work. This chip can be read and updated with a new BIOS file. So to actually get your BIOS you first of all need to read out this chip and dump the content in a BIOS file. And that is what we need for you to do...

Mmm, seems you never worked with NiBiTor and somehow you don't understand how it works. Okay so first, you start NiBiTor v3.0a and you go to Tools and then Read BIOS and click on Select Device... This will give you a popup window, and there you highlight your card and press okay. Then again Tools, again Read BIOS and now select Read into File... After that it will as you where to save the BIOS and you just need to give it a name. All done, now just zip it up and give the file a more unique name and attach it on this thread.

I noticed that the NiBiTor program can alter the voltages on the card. Is it possible to increase it a little? Like from 1.4V to 1.45V for instance?
Well as the GTO is actually a GTX, but just with lower clocked memory. I think they are getting rid of the stock GTX they have at a lower price to prepare for the G80 launch. That means that currently you get real GTX cards which will soon not be the case and the memory chips will certainly change to a lower version. Since it is a GTX design the voltage can't be increased just with the BIOS as the voltage regulator used only goes till 1.4V, so nothing can be done on that via the BIOS.

Re:Who saw or owns a GeForce 7900 GTO card...? - 2006/10/08 19:10 What is the difference in flashing to the GTX BIOS, versus overclocking the GTO on its own? Any advantage? The EVGA e-GeForce 7900 GTO BIOS is attached.

I understand this, changing the resistor to gain 2,1vdimm.
From what in reading here you also have to flash it with the GTX bios,is that because you will open up a few more pipelines and loosen the memorytimings as well? Have anyone just done the resistormod? Might not overclock as good, but sure the performanse should be great beacause of the thighter timings...or im i just out of line here.
BTW...first post here..just ordered a MSI 7900 GTO

I, and a couple of other guys, have the MSI 7900GTO, and we have been experimenting with both BIOS, the 650/800 GTX and GTO mod posted in this thread. We are not shure, but we are discussing if the original GTO timings makes a difference.

The memory clocks about the same, but I don't get scores in 3D Mark 06 that is better in either one of the GTO or GTX BIOS. One of us got 50 points more in 3D Mark06 using the GTO BIOS, but that is not my experince yet. My scores are about the same...

The only difference is the memory clocking, and that the GTO BIOS has tighter timings on the Samsung 1.1ns GDDR memory.

We have yet to see any mods to the resistor, but the volts on the memory is 1.7-1.8V, and is reported in several forums. There has been rumours that increasing the voltage on the memory to 2.1V has been the reason that 7900GTX cards using this memory has been "dying".

Anyhow, I'd like to increase the voltage to 1.9-2.0V. Maybe I get higher overclock on the memory. My top OC on memory is 826Mhz using GTO BIOS, and 831Mhz using the GTX BIOS. highest stable OC on core is 718Mhz on both GTO/GTX BIOS (though I reached 722Mhz it was not stable, making some games freeze).
