Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2006/09/27 18:22 I need your help... If someone has de BIOS for this card I will be very happy about it, cause I have problems. I can't install drivers greater than Catalyst 6.4 and some times it says that I don't have a radeon card installed, so I think it is a problem with the BIOS cause when it works, I play and all goes fine. Thanks...

Specifications...
Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO
- 256MB DDR1 Infineon 4.0ns
- 500/500MHz

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2006/09/27 19:06 Euh, maybe a silly question but is that a PCI Express or AGP card? And another thing are you sure the other newer Catalyst drivers have your card details in their ".inf" file... Cause from what you are explaining I don't think it is the BIOS as that doesn't control if you can install the drivers or not, but the ".inf" file might be missing something related to your card.

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2006/11/02 21:39 I have three of those cards, Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB PCI Express, and every single card does not work properly, the driver 6.9 or 6.10 did not recognize the card. I am going crazy because nobody know about this issue.

System Specifications...
- Intel D945GNT Mainboard
- 512MB Kingston DDR2-667 Memory
- 80GB SATA Western Digital
- Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB PCI Express

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2006/11/03 08:09 Well I for one don't think it has anything to do with the BIOS as it is only the drivers that are fucked up. Doesn't Connect3D has their own drivers? Cause I think they do and by that they will make sure the ".inf" file also reflects your card and will be able to run just fine... If I have some extra time I will check this and normally anybody can just change the ".inf" to support any card.

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2006/11/08 03:54 Thanks, I will check the page of Connect3D, about use those ".inf", as I do not know anything.

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2006/11/09 01:04 Connect3D support and drivers send me to the page of ATI/AMD, and the Catalys 6.10 driver for download do not work, I can use only the Catalyst 6.4. And I do not what more I can do.

Explain that to Connect3D support... They need to be able to resolve this and from what I can think of they have not set te correct identifiers with their Radeon X1600 PRO. So just confront them and if something needs to be fixed it might require a BIOS change but with adapted ID's, which we have no access to. You might want to try of course a BIOS from another brand (like Sapphire...).

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2007/01/04 20:24 Got the exact same problem the only drivers working are the Catalyst 6.4 the ones included in the original driver disk, I tried install the latest Catalyst, the ones in the Connect3D page and the Omega drivers and none works. Also the card doesn't work in Vista cause the same drivers problem, I'v tried installing the Sapphire BIOS for their Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB card and it doesn't work with this card. At the restart I only see artifacts, but I reflashed with the original BIOS and the card is working again but with the same drivers problem. Anyone got a solution?

Re:Request:Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2007/01/05 09:49 Well, why hasn't anyone tried to contact Connect3D? It is easy and you will just need to send an email to ask their support. Now I don't have such a card so I can't do it myself... And the other solution is to update the ".inf" file of the Catalyst drivers with the specific lines of the Catalyst 6.4 that work and add those to the others Catalyst drivers as well...

Re:Request: Connect3D Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB BIOS... - 2007/01/07 02:29 Look what I found in another forums, someone contacted Connect3D... That's crap support from this manufacturer, its the last time I buy their products. If anyone got more info please keep me updated...

Connect3D's Official Response...
[Paul - 12/7/2006 10:16:32]Hi, thanks for your message and sorry to hear you are experiencing problems. We are not aware of any BIOS updates for this, however if there is no problems with your current driver then we would advise you to stick with it until a later version comes out that will support every card like it should do. But if you have any difficulties with this, please let us know. Thanks Paul.
[You - 7/10/2006 6:20:31]This is still an ongoing issue no drivers above 6.4 will work, ATI support says there is a known issue that can only be corrected with a BIOS update. I have 6.9 drivers installed now and in display properties it says BIOS info unavailable dac unavailable memory unavailable adapter string unavailable.
[Paul - 9/10/2006 9:34:13]Hi, thanks for your message and for letting us know. Unfortunately we still do not have an updated driver and are not aware that a BIOS update will solve this issue, if ATI believe this, have they not offered this to you via download or told you where to obtain it? Hope all remains well, however if any queries or problems please keep us posted. Kind regards, Paul.
