My new rig! - 2006/09/10 23:20 Finally my new system is up and running.... with a little problem!Motherboard is
Gigabyte's GA-965P-DS4, processor Intel's new family kid Core 2 Duo E6600,
VGA my older Albatron 7900GTX, hard disk from WD 320GB SATAII 16MB, soundcard Creative's Soundblaster X-Fi Fatality and finally RAM from OCZ.I want to focus on memory as with this I have the problem.I just bought for my new system two 512MB sticks DDRII 800Mhz of RAM from OCZ.If I put only those 800Mhz RAM the system didn't boot.It starts but before "read" BIOS restarts again and again 'till I press for 4 sec power button for the system to turn off.Now if I put together my older system memory, two 512MB sticks DDRII 677Mhz again from OCZ the system runs ok but the memory only at 533Mhz.I also try to manualy "clock" only my new 800Mhz memory but then I had a complete freeze system and I had to clear CMOS for it to restart.Does someone
knows something or can help me with this. Please reply.Thank you people.

Re:My new rig! - 2006/09/10 23:24 perhaps ur motherboard is pickey and dosn't like ur Memory. maybe try flashing ur mobo's bios. um what else. if u havn't already clear ur mobo's bios. and also try using 1 stick of ram at a time.

Re:My new rig! - 2006/09/11 01:00 J2345912 thank you for helping me.I've already "flash" bios to f3 latest version with no help.My RAM sticks are all of them-both 677 and 800-512MB.I even try
them one by one at a time with no help again.I mean that 677 works ok in single channel but at 533Mhz, 800Mhz never worked alone.Something else anybody?

Re:My new rig! - 2006/09/11 03:21 I have similar isue with my asus p5n32-sli D ,from clear cmos no boot with 2 x 1 gig 800 mhz corsair xms2 ddr2, but install 2 x 512 0f 667 mhz corsair xms2 ddr2 no problem ,boot fine once configuration saved in cmos shut down and reinstall 800 mhz mem then boot and run in windows though still hard to boot sometimes take couple of tries ,most times just 1 try, so i suggest try some slower mem to get save in cmos then change mem and boot ,"don't go to setup let it boot, if no go then more serious issue than i have, mem compatibility?
sweet rig, Good luck!

Re:My new rig! - 2006/09/11 10:05 Cominferya thank you.I've already try every combination with those 800Mhz and 677Mhz memory modules with no luck.Single chanel, dual chanel nothing. The system starts only if I have alone 677 or if I put together both 677 and 800 put "runs" only at 533.Funny thing is that in my older system with 955x
from Gigabyte and Pentium D960, 677 works at 677.I've already post some benchmarks scores and I can't realy said that i am realy impressed from my new
system.I mean that it's better from my older six months or so Pendium D960 but
not so much for anyone to spent about 800 euros in so small period of time.Maybe the platform is still young and with bios upgrades and new chipsets
goes better and better trough time. We'll see. Thanks again.
