- Conroe E6700 ES at 3.93GHz
- ASUS P5W DH Deluxe
- 2x 1GB PC2-6400 DDR2
- GeForce 7900 GT (Overclocked)
- Gigabyte 3D Aurora
- Enermax Liberty 620W

Running at 1.62V core, and RM timings at 4-4-4-12. So the first thing I can see, is that to get high frequencies, vcore must be upped.

Okay, and that would mean the stock Intel cooler or a better one from another brand? Just wondering as I use currently the stock cooler delivered with my Core 2 Duo E6300 processor.

Since it's a 65nm chip, it shouldn't get very high, with that frequency. Stock cooling should be enough for a 500MHz overclock, but after, I would change the cooler, to have the lowester temp when overclocking... A few person overclock their Conroe with stock cooling, and reaching over 3GHz.

Re:How to:Overclock an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor!? - 2006/08/26 10:27 Well currently I am running it at 2.8GHz and doing some stability checks and running RC5 full load with distributed.net client, and both cores are at 100% and memory set at DDR2-800.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 OC Settings
- Multiplier : Locked at 7x
- Bus Speed : 400MHz (Increased)
- Core Speed : 2.80GHz
- Core Voltage : 1.400V (Increased)
- Chipset Voltage : 1.60V (Increased)

Next will be a try to hit +3.0GHz... So normally a try at 433MHz bus speed which will end up at 3.03GHz.

I remember this cause I'm interested to buy one of these Intel E6300 also...but for now just collect info on how they perform. So, if you still need it take a look below...

Re:How to:Overclock an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor!? - 2006/11/07 19:47 I currently gotten it up to 2.93GHz... Which actually is at bus speed of 418MHz and multiplier of 7 to reach that speed. I also had to raise the voltage of the CPU itself to about 1.425V. Anyone who knows how far I can go. I know now that it is the CPU that is limiting my overclocks and not the memory as the memory can run as DDR2-1000... Thanks!

I am currently using a Core 2 Duo E6400 at 3448MHz meaning 8 x 430MHz on a MSI 975X CrossFire board. I did however reach 450MHz but my memory is only rated at 667MHz and pushing it to 900MHz is a tad much... Does any one have good 800MHz DDR2 floating around I could borrow...
