As some have raised a discussion on the advertising used, I would like to comment on this. Yeah I removed the thread as the title was not that well choosen. So I am currently using AdBrite for the advertising on top and side. You might ask why... Well I currently need to pay $200 for this dedicated server and the banners that are sometimes displayed are not raising any money, but are because of some deals related to review samples. Yes we not like AnandTech who get's all and more...
So to pay of the $200, I need to get it from somewhere and for about a year and a half I was paying it mostly myself as at that time it was only a small dedicated server that was charged at $100 a month. Since about 6 months we moved to a new data center and server, but due to better conditions and server I am now charged at $200...which I just can't keep paying without some return.
When I started this site about two year and a half ago, I was on a shared server, paying about $20 a month, so no big deal as that I was willing to spend for the site and for the community. But currently I can't really afford to just pump in $200 dollars a month and not getting any return. Oh yes we have a donation button, which has generated since the start a total of about $100...
So if you want to really see the site once again with less of these textual advertising then somehow I need to either get some major donations or find a good a banner advertiser that is willing to pay about $100-250 a month for a banner... Or to have two paid banners covering about $200-250 a month. So if anyone would be keen to help out on this please step in an join the team as advertising manager.
