Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/06/14 20:34 Well yes, a new version is again available. This is actually a quick fix version due to some minor bug reported and that we found that it should get fixed rather urgently. Thanks goes to Jaz for the new update so you can enjoy again this wondeful tool..

Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1

Changes...
  • Support for OverDrive 2D/3D profiles for Radeon X1K cards

  • Experimental Support for Windows 64-bit

  • Fixed wrong timings decoding on Radeon X1800/X1900

  • Several bug fixes

And please provide your feedback... That way we will be able to support you even better! Also provide your Original BIOS as that help a lot to get things better supported in the next versions!

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/06/15 00:05 Hi! Still I have this message in logging window on startup. There are problems with the driver RaBiT.sys! When I try opening my BIOS backup, Check RaBiT driver! Results may be incorrect!

- 1GB DDR400 Memory
- Sapphire Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB AGP
- Audigy 2 ZS
- 2x 120GB Seagate HDD SATA
- Windows XP Pro 64-bit

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/06/15 10:40 I still have that as well and somehow Jaz is not able to find out the cause of this. So some more checking and so on will be done, but since all functions should work even with this error message it shouldn't cause any burder...

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/06/21 18:55 Hey, great work! Everything is workin as it should! Perfect work. There is only one thing left that I would like to see. And that's changing the memory voltage on the Radeon X1800 cards. You can change it per software, exactly as GPU voltage for example with ATITool. So I think it should be possible per BIOS too, or?

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/08/27 18:49 Hi, I've got a little problem with my Sapphire Radeon X1800 XT 512MB and RaBiT v2.1. I checked out the maximum frequencies with default vcore on my Radeon X1800 XT. They are at 680/1600MHz. Now, I decided to change my BIOS with RaBiT and flash it. I changed the standard clocks at OverDrive 2 to 680/1600MHz and changed the fan speed. I set it all to 100% for my Accelero X2. I didn't change anything else. Then I saved the BIOS and flashed it.

And now here is the problem. With the new BIOS my Radeon X1800 XT don't change from 2D to 3D. Every game, every benchmark and all other 3D programs only uses the 2D frequencies and I don't know why. Anyone out there with the same problem or is there somebody who can help me solve this problem? Thanks for help and greetings from Germany...

Edit...
I added my modified BIOS. Maybe someone can download it an take a look, and advice...

Can you also attach your Original BIOS, cause I don't work with an already modified BIOS. I rather check first the original BIOS and see what can be done, cause maybe it isn't really possible at all what you have tried.

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/08/29 08:32 Yes, of course. Here is my original Sapphire Radeon X1800 XT 512MB BIOS. I only need to set the frequencies to 680/1600MHz at default voltage and the fan speed all up to 100%.

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/08/31 08:30 In a German forum we found out, that you can change the default and OverDrive 1 settings. This works fine and the card swiched from 2D to 3D. Only if you change the OverDrive 2 settings it won't work. Maybe it's a bug of RaBiT, the driver or the BIOS itself. Could you find anything out?

There's one more we found out at our forum Hardwareluxx. With the RaBiT v2.1 it isn't possible to set GPU frequencies over 700MHz. When you save the modded bios with frequencies above 700MHz and then reload it with RaBiT, you get only 661MHz.

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/08/31 12:28 Hi, I'm member of that forum, too. I found out, that RaBiT changes the memory timings when you save a modified BIOS, example CL12 becomes CL9, memory refresh rate 0x46 becomes 0x3B and so on. You can change all the timings back to the old, but not the memory refresh rate? That's the first bug. The second, the lower you make the 2D clocks (like memory to 500MHz), the lower the 3D clocks are (RaBiT changes from 800 to 780MHz)! And lastly, if you change the 3D clocks, the BIOS won't switch 2D/3D! I hope you kill those bugs...

Re:Radeon BIOS Tuner (RaBiT) v2.1 Feedback... - 2006/08/31 12:50 I will put all these together and inform Jaz (coder or RaBiT). I can't do much myself as Jaz has coded the logic behind on this.
