A Socket 478 mainboard with SLI feature? - 2006/03/11 00:52 Hi all, I am just wondering if there was ever a Socket 478 motherboard made which supports SLI? The reason for this is I currently have bought an Intel Pentium 4 3.40GHz HT (Northwood Spec SL793) and I dont want to buy a new CPU but I really want SLI. Thanks...

Re:A Socket 478 mainboard with SLI feature? - 2006/03/11 01:06 Mmm with SLI I don't think so, but with PCI Express interface there are. But a Socket 478 with SLI support I haven't seen... But maybe someone else, but I would doubt it cause than I would have tried it myself as well as I still have an Intel Prescott 3.0GHz (S478)...

Re:A Socket 478 mainboard with SLI feature? - 2006/03/11 01:15 I think there was a mention of one being made (or maybe I saw it in a dream, lol) but I can't seem to find one anywhere. I guess I'm just gonna have to search some more...

Re:A Socket 478 mainboard with SLI feature? - 2006/03/12 01:27 No I really want 2 PCI-E x16 slots because I want SLI. But I can't find one so maybe I sould just give up and settle for just the one graphics card.

Re:A Socket 478 mainboard with SLI feature? - 2006/03/22 05:27 I've never seen one... you should just settle with a single PCIe, beause your P4 3.4Ghz is pretty good...

Sidenote: There is an SLI board for Socket 754 tho. EPox. 2x PCIe 8x tho the slots are 16x.
