Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/05/18 12:06 I really just want to thank you for providing a great site with tons of very usefull information. I am pretty much a noob on all this stuff and I have learned a great deal by just taking the time to read the forums and all the extra's you have posted here.

I know a lot of effort goes into maintaining this site and I want to give a sincere thanks to everyone involved for doing an outstanding job. I don't know how often you are actually told thank you, so Thank You!!!

Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/05/18 12:16 Well not so often so it does feel really good to read that. Thanks heaps for the kind words. And yes it does take a lot of time and effort to maintain the site.

Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/05/18 12:28 Mavke, I found out about this site from another site, They gave this site rave reviews, I think most folks really do appreciate it, They just sometimes don't realize that it does take a lot of time and effort to maintain a site like this.

BTW, in the NVIDIA BIOS section you asked me to send in my BIOS for my new Leadtek GeForce 6800, I will attempt to do so as soon as I get a floppy drive installed on my computer. If I understand correctly, I need to copy it on to the floppy before I can flash it or even send a copy of it, Is this correct? I should be getting a floppy drive from Newegg in the next day or 2.

Thanks,
Scott

Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/05/18 14:49 Thanks, and yes you need a floppy drive to basically boot in DOS and to be able to dump the Original BIOS. But if you have more questions on that please try to post them on the appropriate thread.

Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/08/18 09:17 Signatures? One of the greatest input in order to catch someone's problem. But as long as no problem is mentioned, it shorten some disk space.

Yeps those have been disabled as some of them just misuse em to put large images and stuff which is not helping anything... So for now they stay disabled until I see a good reason to somehow block certain stuff and see the need to have em. But your point is taken and put on the list of things we might take up again...

Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/11/23 17:51 Hey Mavke, I would like to give you comment, and idea about the website. You should sort the drivers from new to older one. This would be easier to find them. I would say too, but maybe this is a bit longer, to sort BIOS into 2 sections, AGP and PCI-E. Again it would be easier for people. Thats all I have to say. The website is very nice. Nice design, and its easy to use. Great job!!!

Re:Site feedback... Ideas... - 2005/12/22 14:02 Thanks for the feedback, and you know I have been thinking about that as well, but currently I can't make that change. But I will certainly check it out... For the future.

Since this is a new site and well not all ideas can come from only one person or some... But they come basically from the community. So this is to invite you all to provide some ideas, feedback, comments, whatever on the website

i would like to tell you about the
nvidia (nvflash) flashing guide.

there is something to add.

some cards have epprom protection
and nvflash don't say if epprom is locked
it just gives an error message.

you have to use

nvflash -r (write on) to unlock the epprom
and after the flashing you can
nvflash -w (write off) to lock the epprom

because you said soemwhere (for autoexec.bat )
to use the switch -y (reboot after flashing)
you could think it was flashed
but it rebooted so fast that you couldn't see the messages;
and it failed

you can check if bios was successfully flashed
like this:

nvflash -k file.rom
-k (compare) file.rom (the bios you flashed)
nvflash will compare the file with the bios inside the gfxcard.

for the help/man
like most of DOS program
you type nvflash /? for help.

just my 2 cents to complete the guide.

if my english looks not good to you
i am sorry because i am french ^_^ .
