ForceWare v81.85 no installation possible?! - 2005/10/20 11:08 Hallo, I have ASUS GeForce 6800 LE overclocked to 400/900MHz (in BIOS) and unlocked pipes 16p/5v with RivaTuner. Until now I used the ForceWare v78.01 drivers. Yesterday I tried to install the new ForceWare v81.85 drivers but after the extraction the installation stopped with a message which said that I have no compatible hardware! Can anyone help? Thanks!

NVIDIA ForceWare v81.85 32bit and 64bit...

It has instructions to install and may you have luck installing as I have the Leadtek GeForce 6800 LE and have had no joy, managed to install the drivers, but the system after rebooting would never work.

The actual ".ini" file just has reference to the GeForce 6800 LE PCI-E not the AGP. If you have a look at your BIOS in NiBiTor it will tell you the Device ID, for yours I'd expect 0042, this is not in the ".ini" file, therefore won't install for me.

Raptor on the other hand has managed to install and get it working with his GeForce 6800 LE so I am hopeful, so I am seeing if I can find a way round it, else I'll contact NVIDIA. Also, none of the 81.xx's have installed on my system, 78.xx's are the furthest I have gotten...

Hehe, I knew it would work, it is just NVIDIA that has somehow removed this from their drivers... So I readded it so that the GeForce 6800 LE AGP is again supported... Gona ask NVIDIA why they did that...

Re:ForceWare v81.85 no installation possible?! - 2005/10/20 17:54 Mavke, and for all those interested. I too saw that the AGP version fo the 6800LE was missing, and that only the PCI version was listed.

I changed the ini to include the AGP version for my installation to no avail. The drivers install but after the reboot, the computer freezes on a blank screen with three pixels in the top left corner illuminated.

It will not boot into windows further. Curiously, other people have managed to install their 6800LE's with these and booted into windows.

I am gonna try a fresh install of windows to see if that makes any difference
