Re:Any XGI Drivers? Let us know... - 2005/04/27 03:56
Overall the 1.08 WHQL which are 1.08.53 drivers do respectively well in gaming. Artifacting results are regardless of O/C and or IQ settings or changes in game options. Problems I've encountered thus far...
Chronicles of Riddick Crash to desktop at startup. Probably fixed in new release.
Half-Life 2 Occasional fail to lock Vertex Buffer error and crash to desktop. Noticed the latest S3 Delta Chrome review had same problem. Again newer game with bugs to workout.
MVP Baseball 2004 Shader problems on uniforms at certain angles.
Unreal Tournament 2004 Antalus map, the golden pool is corrupted, even with clean install.

Mafia Artifacting in game background, can't seem to get rid of.
MotoGP 2 Artifacting in background only at certain top speeds, otherwise runs great.
Max Payne 2 Crash during first cinematic opening during partial way through. Unchecking PS 1.4 seems to relieve this, however doesn't seem to effect actual gameplay.
Homeworld 2 Crash to desktop; not listed as supported.
Need For Speed: Underground 2 Lots of in game options missing or disabled? You can hack the registry to allow some of these options however still not listed in menu. Shaders look bad on pearlescent paint schemes and certain colors compared to my NV40.
Need For Speed: Underground Runs and looks excellent on the V8.
Star Wars: Republic Commando Crash during cinematic, at least in demo, hopefully fixed in new drivers. Gameplay in demo runs fine looks great.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Demo actually runs, and looks great just unplayable frame rates unless lowest resolution.
Not sure about IQ and optimizations in 3DMark and Aquamark benches? Questionable. The 1.09 reactors should be out hopefully soon.
