Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/18 22:32 So you mean this page... The Abit card we are looking at today is confirmed as an X300SE chip, but with a full 128 bit interface.
More Features...

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/18 22:34 It states...
As with all X300 cards, the RX300 SE-Guru is clocked at 325MHz on the core and 400MHz DDR on the memory. If you have had the opportunity to browse the specs on the X300 series from ATI, you would know that there are two versions, the regular X300, which has a 128bit memory interface, and the less expensive X300SE, which though sporting the same clock speeds, has only a 64bit memory interface.

So it seems that only this special Abit RX300 SE-Guru has 128bit interface... But normal cards won't have that!

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/18 22:46 Well didn't read it well so I just made a guess, it's to bad that there isn't any possibility to unlock it.

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/19 15:41 Well Abit is using different component to have the 128bit interface... And that is why they can support the 128bit. The reference design has only the 64bit component so unlocking can't be done.

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/21 11:14 Well I thought I was going to be able to do it since my SE cards is a plain copy of X300 without DVI.

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/21 12:26 Are you certain it is a plain copy? Cause if the GPU is different or the memory chips are any other components then it is not a plain copy... So maybe you can publish some photo's from both the X300 and your X300 SE?

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/21 22:16 I don't got pics on a X300 but by looing at the pics from Sapphire site it looks like it. It uses the R370 core but I don't really know about that memories.

Re:Possibility to unlock a X300SE to X300? - 2005/04/23 12:01 Pictures from a brands website are never really accurate. So you really need to get a good picture of a real card. So the best would be to have both cards and then to compare em. But that might not be possible... As then you basically have to buy both cards or you should try and find someone who has such a card.
