Flashing white squares - 2005/04/20 08:05 I just finished a couple 3D's using the XG v71.89 drivers. They bench a little faster in 3DMark05, around 5587 and a little slower in 3DMark03, around 13267 than the drivers I had previously, XG v76.44. However, in the first test of 3DMark05 the little white squares appeared (few but still there). Now these appear with all drivers if I clock to high.

The IQ with the 71.89 is really good IMO, especially with 3DMark03. Does someone know what the first test in 3DMark05 is testing? The squares don't appear with the 76.44 at the same clock speeds but the benching results are different and the IQ, although very good, is better I think with the 71.89.

In the details box of 3DMark05 the results for the first test are 23.0 for the 76.44 non square drivers, and 25.2 for the 71.89 square drivers. With 412MHz/1.06GHz speeds...

Re:Flashing white squares - 2005/04/22 02:20 I changed back since the XG v76.44 let me run slightly faster without specks. The quality is very good as well especially with Mother Nature and the Firefly test. Also the Airboat test, if I go to high the hull also has some checkering or blips that are square shaped, as well as the inflated part in the scene showing the top as it goes by.

These 76.44's allow the highest speed before they show up. Air cooled... Massive heatsinks on the mem's...stock sink on the GPU.. With a GTO card, 120mm fan for mems...60mm for GPU.

Re:Flashing white squares - 2005/04/24 11:35 So now you always have those white squares? Or they are gone with the other drivers? Cause we seen some others with teh same issue on their cards, but not linked to the XG drivers...

Re:Flashing white squares - 2005/05/01 01:49 Sorry for the amount of time passing before this post. No, only if I clock too high do I get the white squares. They go away after I enable in realtime though unless I clock rediculously high.

Re:Flashing white squares - 2005/05/02 16:47 Okay but that is normal, that is a kind of artifact when you go to high in overclocking. So this could be solved some part by lowering the timings of the memory in the BIOS.
