X800XT PE VIVO not recognised - 2005/04/01 00:18
Hi,
I'm totally lost with this one, i've had a Connect 3d ATI X800XT Platinum VIVO AGP for some time now, back in february, i was running some memory tests (motherboard ddr not graphics ram) anyway the system hung on too low a cas setting so i switched off and rebooted. The graphics card came up with an error saying no bios installed waiting for cdrom - or something similar to this. AAAAAHHH! was my response so after i stopped freaking out and looked into the problem, it seemed like the card's bios had become corrupt - I think. Anyway i've tried everything i can to fix this including installing the card in other machines to see if it was motherboard related - same result on 3 motherboards, tried all sorts of drivers etc motherboard bios changes still nothing. I figured i had no option but to flash the bios so i did. I had to use -f as the bios was locked but still nothing. I then tried the 'generic' ATI bios for this card - nothing. I spoke to connect 3d and their so called techs hadn't a clue about half the things i was saying let alone giving me any help. So here i am, i've come to the experts i'd really appreciate some help with is as i'm stuck
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW the card is recognised in win xp as a 'Video Controller (VGA Compatible)' so the card is there it just looks like something has gone wrong somewhere. Also i'm not sure if flashing the bios was successful as i'd never done it before.
