Re:Is it death?? - 2005/03/21 16:32 Normally the amount of beeps also indicated something... So can you check that in your mainboards manual? Cause that could also lead to some solution. But if it just beeps when you put only that card in it doesn't sound very good.

What I do in such cases, I put at minimum hardware on the mainboard. So the CPU, the memory, VGA card and then the PSU. Then I firstly clear the CMOS for some seconds and then I bootup. And then I hope it works or at least I get something and then I move forward adding other hardware.

Re:Is it death?? - 2005/03/21 16:57 You can't RMA it? Why not? If it is only 2 months old you can be sure that Gainward offers to get the card replaced via RMA...

Re:Is it death?? - 2005/03/21 17:36 No it's a bit more old but I voided the warranty...

Re:Is it death?? - 2005/03/21 18:42 Then you are stuck... Unless someone finds a way to somehow reflash the card to the Original BIOS and get it working again. But since it isn't like on a mainboard where you can replace the BIOS chip, I think it will not be feasible to restore the card. I still find it strange that overclocking your CPU caused this.

i know it's kinda srtange but after underclocking the cpu it booted fine and i turned it off to plug in my cd w and i think that maybe when i turned off my pc the vga was being acessed and maybe i corrupted the bios because there isn't even any bad smell or signs of burning. and when i tried to flash it didn't find anything int the agp slot.

is there anyway to flash it without using software. like using some kind of hardware that you can modify the bios when the vga is turned off or is this impossible???

Well I don't know. I didn't see it yet and if I had then I would most probably have bought it as I flash my card often enough just to try things out.

Re:Is it death?? - 2005/03/21 23:44 Ok guys I think I just have to stick with my GeForce 4 MX440. Is there any way to flash this a VGA???

By the way, I overclcoked it from 275/512MHz to 410/600MHz and it's stable.

Re:Is it death?? - 2005/03/22 01:55 With the GeForce 4 I have no real idea if it can be flashed. But as you can overclock it that high then why not just leave it like that.
