Re:RivaTuner + Core voltage... - 2005/03/20 19:59 Problem is that I don't know yet where to measure core voltage.
But I will try to flash another GT bios, since nobody did it untill now.Just to borrow a pci card.

Re:RivaTuner + Core voltage... - 2005/03/21 02:20 No,GT bioses don't work with my card.I tried twice again,same negative results.
But I did the core volt mode by pencil trick wich works. Some conclusions might be of help for you in better understanding the bios of these cards.
Shading a certain rezistor I decreased impedance by about 40ohms,wich will give an increase of about 0.1v to the core.
After the mod, idle temperature remained the same, while full load increased by about 7C.Does this mean that ,in fact, there are separate voltages for 2D and 3D?
I don't have complete information but the guy wich originaly did this mod, says that before the mod, core voltage was 1.5-1.55V,wich is hard to believe.

Re:RivaTuner + Core voltage... - 2005/03/21 02:47 I agree Seaman... I flashed several days before my Inno3d GF 6600 NU AGP with 2 different GT bioses and it didn't work (fuzzy characters / screen corruption). Got it back up by blind flashing with the original bios. (nasty experience).

But how did you do the pencil trick ? It leaves trails ? Is it permanent ?
Can you, or did you post a link with a tutorial and I missed it?

Re:RivaTuner + Core voltage... - 2005/03/21 05:31 I cant find a good volt mod (pencil tryck) for my inno3d 6600gt can anyone help me
also my temps is idle 57 and full 76 I think this is too hight all thsi at 535mhz and if I set it to 550 there are no artifacts for 10sec the artifact start to apear and the temp goes up to 90; i will try to change the cooling but its a lot harder because the hsi bridge is upper than the gpu any suggestion?

Your card only has a 3D mode.

Raising gpu volts by 0.1v is likely to have little effect on idle temps, but would certainly be expected to have a measurable effect on temps when loaded.

And like you, I am a bit surprised that stock gpu volts for a 6600nu could be as high as 1.5v, especially since the default gpu volts in 3D for a 6600GT is 1.4 ?

Re:RivaTuner + Core voltage... - 2005/03/21 10:22 For Mulder:
I started a special thread for volt mods here:
http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,34/func,view/id,11513/catid,10/
In the first post you will find the link for 6600NU cards>pencil trick is not permanent,it can be removed very easy.If the things are not clear for you after reading, post your questions in that thread and I'll be happy to help you.
For Flo:
Keep searching by Google.Internet is full of voltage mods.If I stumble on one,I'll let you know.
For everybody:
Post your questions about voltmoding here:
