Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/09/04 09:20 Since this is a new site and well not all ideas can come from only one person or some. But they come basically from the community. So this is to invite you all to provide some ideas, feedback, comments, whatever on the website. And of course we will see what we can do with those. Some might be rather easy to just do, others could be less easy. All will however be taken into account, and we will do are best to make it work.

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/09/04 14:03 To be honest, I'm not that keen on this forum software, it just seems too small and cramped. I guess this is some easy way forum that comes with the package rather than a full fetched forums solution. This is a great site though.

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/09/05 00:32 Okay thanks for the feedback, good or bad that is what I want to see. Well I am using Mambo to hold all content and so on. And they also have a component that is called SimpleBoard, which I use as forums. Yeps it is kindy small, but well it is an ongoing development so I hope the next version will be a bit more expanded. Thanks again for your comments!

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/09/05 02:52 I wonder if you could help me. I tried to access the ATI BIOS section and nothing came up. I had been there before, during last week, but now there is nothing. Is this a problem on my end or is the area down for some reason? I was really glad to find the section but now I can't use it. Thanks for your help in advance...

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/09/05 05:38 Yeps well last week the site was hosted on a different server and had different CMS running. What does it mean? Well now we have our own private dedicated server and I have to readd all the downloads. Which brand did you wanted, on the ATI BIOS files? Then I will put that one up first.

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/09/06 04:30 Well I have found this site just as flawed as some others I have posted at! Five minutes ago, I wrote a longest post on the merits or otherwise of GeForce 6 drivers, only to find that it was not saved when submitted and therefore all my time and work essentially went up in smoke! And, no point reminding me that I should have created the info outside of the forums and simply posted it as a finished article.

At the moment I am probably kicking myself much harder than anything anyone else can say to me, since I know deep down that I should have known better simply because of having been bitten similarly by other sites in the past. However, we are both losers, since even if I could remember all I had written, I have unfortunately lost all interest at the moment. Also, let this stand as a lesson for others posting here and in other forums!

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/11/04 13:53 Maybe it is just me and my setup, but no matter how many times I update my profile to add a signature part to the bottom of my posts, it keeps dissappearing? I assume this is some kind of flaw in the website?

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/11/04 22:52 Well the signature has been disabled as I can't limit the characters for now, I need to wait till a new version of SimpleBoard. And some users have put a signature that took a bit to much space. So I disabled it for now, until version 1.0.4 of SimpleBoard for Mambo open source is available and then I will test it again. I am sorry for this though...

Well at least you have now cleared up my mystery! And I know what you mean about some people using huge amounts of space for signatures. Some of the forums show signatures that almost make it hard to recognise what is being posted.

Re:Looking for site feedback, provide your ideas and comments? - 2004/11/05 02:10 Indeed that is what I mean. And I don't want to see that happening here so that is why I took that action. The posts should be the main focus and the signature is nice but well not mandatory I think. Or I hope somehow.
