ASUS Radeon X1650 PRO with AGP being seriously bugged? - 2009/06/27 22:19 I bought this card a while back when my Radeon 9800 broken down. The thing is that I have never been able to use any other drivers than Catalyst 7.3. If I try to install anything else I either get blue screen, corrupt graphics, ripples across the screen and so on. I have no idea what causes these issues it was not until today I found this forum and a possible way to solve this issue. The solution might be to flash the card like some guy did about a year ago to get it working better.

The cards name as on the box is actually Extreme AX1650 PRO having 256MB of DDR2 on an AGP interface and coming from ASUS. Now I wonder how would I create a backup of the BIOS on this card? What are the odds that a flash to another BIOS would even work and/or solve the issues I am having? Drako apparently used Sapphire Radeon X1600 BIOS and he got his ASUS graphics card to work as required.

Re:ASUS Radeon X1650 PRO with AGP being seriously bugged? - 2009/06/28 14:31 Well that is certainly something you can try cause quite some Radeon X1650 AGP cards did have issues and with some BIOS update that was somehow resolved. But I would first see with ASUS support if they won't have a newer BIOS that will solve your issues. Cause that is always better. And to backup your original BIOS just use the standard tools ATIFlash etc, or use GPU-Z which will work from within Windows to take a backup.
