Radeon HD 4870 CrossFire troubles, please help figuring out? - 2008/08/13 11:43 I have two Radeon HD 4870 cards, one ASUS and one Gigabyte, and the system is running an Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 with 2GB GeIL Ultra 1066MHz memory on an ASUS Rampage Formula mainboard powerd by a Cooler Master 1250W power supply. But, I can't get CrossFire working correctly. When I tried on default CPU clocks, I got better results with CrossFire disabled, actualy with only one card than with CrossFire enabled. After I clocked CPU over 3.0GHz, CrossFire started working, but if I try 3DMark06, I got almost 19000 points, much better than with only one card.

Though when I try Crysis benchmark tests, CrossFire is working better than one card, only in modes with anti-aliasing and very high mods are off. In that modes on, one card works much better than CrossFire. I tried with the Catalyst 8.7 and 8.8 beta drivers, drivers from ASUS website, but everytime is the same story. So, any suggestion what should I do to get CrossFire working properly? Please help, this situation is driving me crazy! Thanks in advance for your answers!

Re:Radeon HD 4870 CrossFire troubles, please help figuring out? - 2008/08/13 21:11 Sorry to bother, but I adapter your post so everyone can really understand what you have in your PC cause with all your short names and so on it is really nice to read nor understand. Yeah, experts will but this forum is for everyone. I wouldn't know how to help don't have CrossFire both some have so I am waiting on those to share their view on this. Though CrossFire isn't always working fine and AMD still have to do some tweaks with their upcoming Catalyst drivers...
