,I think if you have same core and mem you may be fine ,a friend was going to attempt a similar feat but with different models ,one had video capture capability the other did not so , i told him to log on here and seek advise ,he hasn't yet,even more n00b than me,though not as Blunt,
an expert opinion is what your after ,and maybe you could provide some more specs on your cards.
