Well that will never work, the chips are completely different. The Radeon X1600 XT uses the RV530 XT chip and the Radeon X1800 XT uses the R520 XT chip. Both chips are from a different process so you can completely forget about that kind of modding. Modding a Radeon X1800 XL to a Radeon X1800 XT should be possible but since ATI is testing all their R520 chips very well most Radeon X1800 XL will never make it up the Radeon X1800 XT level.
