ATI plans to push out their R580 graphics core in Q1 next year to replace the current R520 therefore Radeon X1800 XT will probably have only 6 months of life span. The new graphics series based on the R580 architecture will be known as Radeon X1900 and will be pin to pin compatible with the Radeon X1800 XT PCB. The cooling design will be similar to the Radeon X1800 XT. The Radeon X1900 will be competing against NVIDIA G71 when the time comes.
