First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/05/31 16:13 Well I just spotted these and they look very promising... The ATI Radeon X850 XT in CrossFire setup gives around 9766 as score in 3DMark05. This against the score of the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra in SLI of about 9829...

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/05/31 16:15 Update...
And with the ATI Radeon X850 XT PE in CrossFire setup you get around 10662, but the CPU used here is the AMD Athlon64 4000+ instead of the 3800+ used on the previous benchmarks for the ATI Radeon X850 XT (CrossFire) and NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra (SLI)...

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/05/31 16:48 I would have expected more from the ATI CrossFire... But maybe that still need to improve? Cause well the ATI Radeon X850 XT is normally considered faster then the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra, so in CrossFire setup it should be faster then the NVIDIA SLI setup. At least that would be my guess.

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/05/31 17:51 Oh well yes I expected also more of it. But we are still at the beginning so it might still gain a lot of performance... And with the news about the Catalyst 5.6 drivers that would already bring 10-15% more performance it could be a lot that would be gained...

I am just hoping that NVIDIA can achieve something like that with their upcoming drivers... Cause ATI is really good at getting performance boosts with new drivers, but with NVIDIA it is less spectacular.

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/06/01 12:48 Some more on the benchmarks... Also with the help of DFI to run some of the first benchmarks with the results...

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/06/01 23:36 Some figures? Finally, please note that all tests were run with Doom 3 set to Ultra Quality....

Radeon X850XT Crossfire
Normal
> 1024x768 – 85.4
> 1280x1024 – 83.1

4xAA 8xAF
> 1024x768 – 69.6
>1280x1024 – 52.2

GeForce 6800 Ultra SLI
Normal
> 1024x768 – 83.8
> 1280x1024 – 82.5

4xAA 8xAF
> 1024x768 – 67.8
> 1280x1024 – 53.4

Well those resuslts are very close, when I would expected that the Radeon X850XT would give faster scores...

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/06/05 08:29 For the overclockers in the crowd, Macci has taken a CrossFire rig to well over 15K on 3DMark05. Well 15.498 to be exact. His single card score was 9591 on 3DMark05 with a 904MHz core speed. Here is a link to some more info...
15k Broken in 3DMark05 with CrossFire...

So 20K in 3DMark05 will be likely be breached with the release of the R520 and 7800. The next few months should prove to be very interesting.

Re:First benchmark results of ATI CrossFire... - 2005/06/07 11:45 Yeps and this score was used at Computex by ATI to blow away NVIDIA with their SLI scores. So again ATI is on top of the benchmarks... Well let's hope NVIDIA can still improve as well.
