Radeon X850XT Flashable? - 2005/06/03 23:58 Hi, I was looking around but I could not find it...

But I was wondering if I can get some help...or if someone has already done it. I just ordered an Radeon X850XT and I was wondering if it was possible to flash it to a Radeon X850XT PE, has anyone done it without any trouble? Or artifacts... Oh and I also have water cooling so there is gonna be ram sinks and the core is water cooled. Thanks!

Re:Radeon X850XT Flashable? - 2005/06/04 02:55 I doubt that you would gain anything besides higher default clock speeds. Overclock the card to PE speeds first before you try any flashing.

Re:Radeon X850XT Flashable? - 2005/06/04 03:00 Ok, I will try that, and if I am able to acheive the speeds... You don't think its worth flashing at all?

But thanks for the advice though!

Re:Radeon X850XT Flashable? - 2005/06/04 04:32 You will void your warranty on a brand new card (but you'll do that by installing water cooling anyway). The XT and XT PE are basically the same card with different default settings. You have more to lose than gain, IMHO.

Re:Radeon X850XT Flashable? - 2005/06/04 10:58 Well if you are putting water cooling on the card then you might even be able to gain even more then the XT PE speeds. And since by adding water cooling the warranty on the card would already be voided, then flashing or running it overclocked via software would do the same thing...

Re:Radeon X850XT Flashable? - 2005/06/04 21:30 Ok guys thanks for your help.
Yeah my warranty is gonna be voided anyways because I gotta thermal adhesive the ram sinks on... I won't use the tape because they always wind up falling off. But thanks guys!
