Intel Quad Core Q9550 for sale or trading, someone interested? - 2009/03/12 20:33 Hi everyone, I have a sligthly used, less that one month, Intel Quad Core Q9550 processor. I am looking to sell and was wondering if anyone would be interested. I would like to get $200 for it and the buyer would have to pay for shipping. I have the orginal Intel box, heatsink and even the Quad Core sticker that came with it.

Re:Intel Quad Core Q9550 for sale or trading, someone interested? - 2009/03/13 18:00 Update, I have found someone willing to trade an EVGA e-GeForce 9800 GTX+ for this processor. I am currently running a PNY GeForce 9600 GT. Is this a good swap?

Is it a good swap, well I would first check what does such a GeForce 9800 GTX+ cost currently and compare that to the cost of a Quad Core Q9550 processor. Is it in the same range, than why not it will give you a nice increase in performance over the GeForce 9600 GT you got and you can sell that one after.

Re:Intel Quad Core Q9550 for sale or trading, someone interested? - 2009/03/16 20:58 That's kind of what I was thinking as well. Two quick questions for everyone. First, about how much should I ask for my PNY GeForce 9600 GT? It is around six to seven months old and has been a great overclocker. Would $50 be to high, or it would about right?

Second, what kind of success have people had with overclocking the GeForce 9800 GTX+ cards? I am having a hard time finding reviews that provide stats for this graphics card and I am really keen to do some overclocking to get some extra performance.

Re:Intel Quad Core Q9550 for sale or trading, someone interested? - 2009/03/17 19:31 Well I would have said also about $50 for your GeForce 9600 GT, and the overclocking value you might not want to stress to much unless it is an overclocker looking for a good deal. Second the GTX+ should overclock okay as this is a 55nm G92 based version, and can take quite a bit of heat as it is better than the 65nm version.

Re:Intel Quad Core Q9550 for sale or trading, someone interested? - 2009/03/19 16:57 Thanks for the info. Should have the new graphics card soon. I will post the EVGA BIOS from it soon as I get it in my system.
