Small update, as it seems I did get a nice deal on an Intel engineering sample of an extreme edition processor. As soon as I have it in my hands and also a mainboard, I will reveal what I did get. Though since the ASUS P6X58D Premium is not yet available locally, it might take a while before I can actually ugrade my system.
