Advice on new PC, what to get to power Core 2 Quad Q9450? - 2008/05/23 10:33
Hello everyone, I'm planning to upgrade my current PC and didn't push thru last time. My current rig is built around an ABIT IP35 Pro and and an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 with twice 2GB Team Extreem DDR2 1066MHz memory, powered with an MSI GeForce 8800 GTX OC edition. I've ordered an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 which is arriving tomorrow and my question is, I want to have Quad SLI and I don't know what motherboard would be better. I want something not so expensive and would let me do Quad SLI with two GeForce 9800 GX2 and would a the SilverStone DA750 power supply do the job?
And I plan to get another two 2GB Team Extreem 1066MHz memory modules or should I change it also with the new board? I want to try out DDR3 but last I check it was still too expensive and hard to come by here were I live, if their is a good motherboard for DDR3 and the DDR3 that's not too expensive can you guys tell me which brand and model? I was just thinking about a small upgrade, and I have the Core 2 Quad Q9450 and was planning on a GeForce 9800 GX2 and maybe later on adding another GeForce 9800 GX2, what is your though on this? And I wanted to know what's your advise on the following? Having a hard time deciding so need your advice thanks!
Future System Specifications... - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66GHz Processor - Good bang of the buck, though fast Mainboard? - Team Extreem DDR2 Mmory of 1066MHz or change? - GeForce 9800 GX2 or any other suggestions? - SilverStone DA750 750W Power Supply
