Logitech MX518 mouse malfuntion... - 2006/06/30 10:05 Well I just encounterd a very gay problem with my Logitech MX518. Anyway my mouse has always worked flawless until tonight. I've not plugged anything into my front USB ports for quite some time now until now, anyway I plug it in and it says something like USB device not reconized and that it has malfunctioned. I've tried uninstalling drivers, re-installing and unplug then plug it back in... Also tried diffent USB ports.

Okay, this is the part that kills me. My friend is also running a Logitech MX518 on his PC so I decided to plug mine into his PC and same thing! I have no clue as to what has happened I'm just sad now as I think my mouse is fried. Also once again tried it with a perfect working Logitech MX310 and same thing happened. Then without plugging into the front USB ports I plug in a Dell optical mouse into the back of my PC and works flawless! Anyway if anyone has any clue as to what has gayed meid sure appreciate it.

Re:Logitech MX518 mouse malfuntion... - 2006/06/30 12:07 Seems to me quite obvious that your Logitech MX518 mouse has gone bad. Since you tried it on two different PC's and it isn't working nor getting recognized... So I guess if you still have warranty than take it back to get a new one.

Re:Logitech MX518 mouse malfuntion... - 2006/07/01 01:36 Yeah how depressing... Alreaydy issues an RMA so better off getting a new one anyway. Thanks for your input!

Re:Logitech MX518 mouse malfuntion... - 2006/09/03 18:01 Might have been that when you set-up your front usb ports wrong that would kill any usb device if you send power through ground.
