But cant decide if i want 2x6800vanillia or a single 7600gt. Ill give ya the rest of my purchase also and if ya know of better products for a similar price feel free to recomend.

Re:everything but the GPU decided help plz - 2006/04/01 21:05 2 6800's will allways be 2 6800 while 1 7600gt may become 2 7600gt ?? not waiting for AM2 ?

Re:everything but the GPU decided help plz - 2006/09/03 08:25 I agree go with any single decent pci-e card for now and save up and later with go to SLI.

And damn hate AMD for releasing AM2. Dont get me wrong I'm a big AMD guy and bought the 3800 X2 just when it came out out thinking i'll have the latest AMD pin-out for the next 1-2 years.... no, AMD have to go and screw me over and come out with AM2.

I know they have to compete with Intel for superiority but damn???

Just for taht I'm going to get an Intel Conroe's!

Re:everything but the GPU decided help plz - 2006/09/03 18:48 Good choice. AM2 won't be here for a long time. Because With the K8L, yes it would work on a AM2 mainboard, but will be bottleneck by the board, since it will use Hyper-transport 3.0, that gives 86% more bandwidth.. So your link doesn't work anymore..

The choice would be to stay on s939 for a few months, or getting a Conroe system. I would say to go with the 7600GT, cause it gives a very good performance/price. But you should wait maybe one or 2 weeks, since I saw that in germany, the 7900GT just drop between 190E et 210E, so that would say all other card will drop in price.Don't take 6800, since you will no longer be able to gain performance by adding an other card. You will buy them, and when they will have difficulties to run games, you will have to change card.

A 7600GT is enought, it runs fine games in 1280*1024, but 2x 7600GT, is awesome. I have 2 of them from evga, overclocked on a AMD 4200+ @ 2.5ghz, and I run F.E.A.R. benchmark maxed, in 1280*1024, with an minimum of 50 FPS, maximum of 244, and 98 FPS avegrage. I just can't say anything bad about this card, they run fast for the price, have a good overclock (memory goes over 1600mhz effective, and GPU 600mhz without any volt mod)..
