And no that can't be the problem at all, as NiBiTor can just read the BIOS just fine and for your reference normally all GeForce GTS 250's are 55nm based cards, that is the whole reason of the name changing. What the issue will be is that you are using Vista and as we explained so many times to get direct access to the hardware you need a driver signing certificate from Microsoft and that costs about $750-1000 a year so unless someone has too much money we can't afford that. You can use GPU-Z or nvFlash to backup the BIOS and open it with NiBiTor. But yes do share the original BIOS as well with us.

And no don't come with but we can't change the fan speed via the BIOS that is because there is no fan speed control table and we can't just introduce one as it won't work either. This is again the whole point behind the GeForce GTS 250, which is how can you make it cheaper and that is by omitting some flexibility. Also if this is not about NiBiTor but about the graphics card as a discussion please start separate thread about it.

I know that NiBiTor doesn't read from the hardware on 64-bit operating systems due to driver signing enforcement, so perhaps you can use an open source driver rather than paying Microsoft for a licence on your own. I don't have a clue if it's capable of accessing the hardware in the way you require but it's worth a look if you haven't seen it already.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.1 software and give feedback? - 2009/07/26 19:45 Thanks mate, we will look into this but we actually already used some kind of free kind of library or certificate and it didn't work as it is not using the conventional way of accessing hardware when you are dumping the firmware from a graphics card and from what I can see, I doubt this is going a difference.

Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v5.1 software and give feedback? - 2009/08/02 12:18 Indeed mate, though there isn't much that does work as we did found also another solution with some kind of free certificate method and even that wasn't working due to the nature of how you can only extract the original BIOS from a graphics card. And for GPU-Z the coder is paying the yearly certificate and there it works just fine, while they also tried various other ways and just gave up.
