Re:NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) v2.2a software and your feedback? - 2005/07/09 15:26
I don't know you, may it be you are the same user yevdokimenko? If you are I must say I have gotten your email, but sending you back doesn't work, I always get return from mailer daemon that your email address can't be found. Maybe its because you are using cycrillic email address? To your points, yes users can edit wrong values in performance table if they wish, but they could also do this by using HexView, or a simple Hex editor, or even try to destroy their BIOS with notepad or something.
People who want to edit something they don't understand will find a way for sure. The entries of voltage table are growthsorted when using extend voltage table, despite of that there is no function to change the voltage descriptors. If you think about editing the voltage table by hand using HexView, well if some wishes to do so he should know what he does and not be restricted. Yes NiBiTor is using predefined signatures to find voltage and performance table like I said before. At the beginning I tried to find the pointers, but didn't find them and so used signatures search, which has worked well since then. Did Unwinder tell you the pointers?
