Yeah sorry guys, since I am now on the site I just can't leave without just replying on these topice about NiBiTor. But yeah abuse is the right word really, rather download and use the tool than to just invest that one single dollar to support the hard work you guys have put into it.
That is indeed an idea, though I don't have a clue how that should be implemented but at least it is an idea we can put on the list to check. You never know that this would be the solution to alos get more appreciation and some extra push to keep on investing our time and effort into the tool. And yes we know a lot of persons do like it a lot and use it a lot, but it seems not many are willing to dig into their pockets to just donate as less as $1 for keeping the development going.

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/01/03 19:31 Well if just a number of real supporters continue to be the only ones, I guess you will have to restrict the number of versions released based on the ChipIn rate. No problem for me, I know how valuable this continued development is and I'm in just got to go top up the card conected to my PayPal and I'm in for the next version for sure. And now I will start to charge for BIOS modding and recovery services also, and share less.

Yeah but really it is not to make money, but rather to show that users really do like and appreciate the hard work. So these ChipIn's won't be for every version but we might do it from time to time. Again we don't get that much hardware neither so our developer does need to buy certain graphics cards as well and those don't come cheap. So you want better support, the goal is that when there is a ChipIn present to just help out for the good cause.

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/01/04 23:51 I have directed a number of friends and others to this site for the tools and info available. I know they have no problem to contribute and support and I also know some use these tools, so there is really no excuse, other than the lack of motivation for whatever reason. Keep on keeping on. Yeah never make a living at this thats for sure, lol...

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/01/05 12:55 Well the other way to support us is to visit our pricing advertisers, those that show the products with the lowest prices. Well don't misuse, but if you are interested in buying something just use it or just once a day to visit two or three products would be good. That is what pays the hosting costs and all that is left as extra is invested in the website or tools. But since some months, I guess due to the global crisis that has gone down and we can just keep up to pay our hosting costs.

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/05/27 15:33 Hey, great work with NiBiTor v5.0, excellent piece of software. I am looking to overcome the overcurrent and/or overvoltage protection limits of the GeForce GTX 295. There is no hardware modification available to do this, since the VT1165 still under NDA. Is there an option perhaps in BIOS that can increase or remove these limits?

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/05/27 15:49 Could you provide some more details cause we are now working on NiBiTor v5.2 and it is the right time now to get some extra features included if at all possible. So can you explain a bit more and also what the limits are for the GeForce GTX 295, cause we don't have such a card to play around with, but we can certainly check it out if we know what this is fully about and what the actual limits are as such that you have found.

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/05/27 16:31 I think the problem is more overcurrent protection related, which will kick in around 1.28-1.30V core voltage when loaded, depending on the clock speeds you have set. If you set low clocks it will pass, but higher clocks will fail. So it seems current not voltage is the culprit. Instability can also occur with lower voltages and high clocks, so I would say almost 100% it is an overcurrent protection issue.

I just thought maybe something could be edited via software, since the VT1165 is a software modifiable multiphase voltage regulator, see all the monitoring plugins for RivaTuner or various software voltage tweak programs. So maybe other things are feasible but since no datasheets are available this is something that is up to the experts.

Re:What's next, share your ideas with us to make NiBiTor better? - 2009/05/27 19:53 Mmm, thanks for this extra information. From what we know the VT1165 is able to increase the voltage in a flexible way which was not feasible with the previous cheaper chip, and this is also what NiBiTor allows you to do. Though there doesn't seem to be any current tweakable and neither any details that this is feasible with this chip as it is a voltage regulator, and there is only a certain current available to the graphics card to operate. So from that part we doubt it is a protection, but rather there isn't anymore that can be given.
