An e-GeForce 6200 to get working on Power Mac G4, any help? - 2008/08/30 04:04 I just got an e-GeForce 6200 made by EVGA for my Power Mac G4 933MHz tower but when I installed it the Mac didn't boot up. A friend told me that I would have to flash it to work on a Mac but I never flashed a card before so I did a search and found this site any help would rock, thanks.

Re:An e-GeForce 6200 to get working on Power Mac G4, any help? - 2008/08/30 11:30 Okay, now I just checked a bit what the Power Mac G4 is all about cause Apple changed over the year or more now to Intel based platform which means any hardware should work quite okay on these Mac's. And I need to disappoint you somehow cause you got a G4 and those are still based on the old PowerPC processors and need specific hardware designed for Apple. So your EVGA e-GeForce 6200 which is designed for a normal PC won't work, and neither after any BIOS flash really as the hardware is slightly different to get it to work on your G4 system.

Yeps indeed, that is at least because you have oneof those Mac still based on the PowerPC processors, if you would have the newer versions based on Intel hardware it should have worked normally.
