AOpen GeForce 6800LE BIOS volt mod - 2005/01/16 06:31 I changed the voltage in BIOS (Version : 05.40.02.22.01) with NiBiTor v1.9b to 1.3V. I did the flash with nvFlash v4.42. All worked perfect. RivaTuner 15.3 shows the voltage of 1.3v at the graphics subs. diagnostic report.

$1100010000 Perf. level 0 : 300MHz/350MHz/1.30V
$1100020000 VID bitmask : 00000011b
$1100020100 Voltage level 0 : 1.10V, VID 00000000b
$1100020101 Voltage level 1 : 1.30V, VID 00000010b
$1100020102 Voltage level 2 : 1.40V, VID 00000001b
$1100020103 Voltage level 3 : 1.50V, VID 00000011b
$1100000003 SW masked units : none

My problem is now...
Before the BIOS change I could raise the core speed to 345MHz and the memory speed to 797MHz. More wasn't possible. Therefore I made the change to 1.3V. But nothing has changed. I can't start with 350MHz/797MHz for example the Aquamark03 benchmark, it stops after loading with a freeze. Did I make something wrong? I don't think the card can't go any further than 345/797MHz. I have put the Arctic Cooling Silencer NV5 on it and the temp is 44°C idle with open case.

Please help me!
Thank you.

As attachment I put my "newbios" to check it if you want to have a look at it...

Edit...
I found out (at http://www.hynix.com) that the Hynix Ram on my card is specified for 400MHz (=800) HY5DU283222AF-25 (2.5ns) at VDD 2.8V so I think that it will not go much higher. I don't understand what the 2.8V VDD means. The card is running with 1.3V, where does the 2.8V come from?

Re:AOpen GeForce 6800LE BIOS volt mod - 2005/01/16 10:17 The 2.8vdd is the supply voltage for the memory, the 1.3v is the core voltage. If raising it up did nothing for you, then put it back the way it was.

I swear, I think they're doing something to these newer cards so they don't much.

Re:AOpen GeForce 6800LE BIOS volt mod - 2005/01/16 18:31 I don't think they do something to the never cards, I am sure I did something wrong when flashing the card... I am no specialist on the PC, but if I look at the following table there are some disagreements (sorry for my bad English).

VID bitmask is set to ...11b
Voltage level 3 says 1.50V, VID ...11b
Perf. level 0 says 1.30V?

$1100010000 Perf. level 0 : 300MHz/350MHz/1.30V
$1100020000 VID bitmask : 00000011b
$1100020100 Voltage level 0 : 1.10V, VID 00000000b
$1100020101 Voltage level 1 : 1.30V, VID 00000010b
$1100020102 Voltage level 2 : 1.40V, VID 00000001b
$1100020103 Voltage level 3 : 1.50V, VID 00000011b
$1100000003 SW masked units : none

I tried to check the GPU-vcore with RivaTuner 15.3 (at hardware monitoring setup I checked the Core VID) but it remains at 0.0. Before the BIOS update it showed 1.1V.

Isn't there anyone here who can check my BIOS file if I did everything allright?

Re:AOpen GeForce 6800LE BIOS volt mod - 2005/01/16 19:43 Can you also post your Original BIOS (non modded). Then I can take a look as well. On the memory voltage there is no possibility to raise the voltage in the BIOS. On the core you can raise it using NiBiTor. But raising the voltage doesn't aways lead to better overclocking...

Re:AOpen GeForce 6800LE BIOS volt mod - 2005/01/16 23:22 Hi Mavke!
As attachment I put my original BIOS, named "oldbios.rom". I think the memory is at its end at nearly 800MHz (specification is 800MHz), but I can't believe that the GPU core is at its end with 345MHz.

Thank you for your help...

Re:AOpen GeForce 6800LE BIOS volt mod - 2005/01/18 04:18 I made it!
It was a problem with the drivers version, I am running ForceWare 66.97 now and I can go for 400MHz core/ 900MHz memory. I did that just for benchmark tests. Normaly I will do 350MHz/800MHz.
