Locking pixel quads on Radeon X850 XT PCI Express... - 2007/06/09 16:55
Hello, I am a newbie. Okay, here is the issue... I bought a ATI Radeon X850 XT PCI Express card from a guy on AT for like $20 shipped and it artifacts like mad. I was told it artifacted before I bought it but he made it sound like it wasn't this bad. I'm assuming it's the core having this problem, but I'm wondering if it will be worth a shot to lock down 1 or 2 pixel quads turning it into a Radeon X850 PRO or GT...
What I need for this though are stock Radeon X850 PRO PCI Express BIOS from software locked Radeon X850 PRO's so I can try to lock the quads on the Radeon X850 XT down one at a time, to do this I'll be needing four separate BIOS's, one for each of the quads on a R480 core. To clear that last bit up I'll need one BIOS with Quad One locked on a software locked Radeon X850 PRO, one with Quad Two locked on a oftware locked Radeon X850 PRO and so on and so forth.
The X850XT artifacts too bad to do anything through Windows as even the boot screen is garbled beyond belief. If anyone has a BIOS I can use please send them to me. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
