PowerColor Radeon X1950 PRO AGP, fan speed question... - 2007/01/25 23:36 Hallo, I used RaBiT to change my fan speed but if I flash the modified file the fan speed won't change. I set o-35 Grad to 5% but the fan runs fast (so fast I think as the dafault is 40%). Any ideas how? Thanks!

Re:PowerColor Radeon X1950 PRO AGP, fan speed question... - 2007/01/26 11:02 Can you supply us with your original BIOS (untouched) so we can check and see? We can then see with the coder of RaBiT if it is linked to the program or just the card that doesn't understand it...

Well I somehow think the BIOS is not really the issue... But rather the cooling solution that PowerColor is using which is actually not the stock cooler but an Arctic Silencer. This allows better and more silent cooling of the Radeon X1950 PRO.

Re:PowerColor Radeon X1950 PRO AGP, fan speed question... - 2007/01/29 13:07 My card has the big Arctic Cooler! Which come on almost all versions of the PowerColor Radeon X1950 PRO cards...

Yes, that is what I have said! An Arctic Cooler the Accelero X2... And most likely it doesn't work with the BIOS settings to control the fan speed, while the stock ATI cooler does.

Re:PowerColor Radeon X1950 PRO AGP, fan speed question... - 2007/01/29 15:09 Then I can flash back the orginal BIOS... If I want to change the fan speed I have to solder a resistor to the fan cable! Any Hints?

Euh, maybe you can use Zalman Fan Mate which is a fan controller module that you can put in between to have control over the fan speed.
