GeForce 6800 Ultra driver issues (not gamma prob)... - 2005/07/28 20:52 I'v got a BFG GeForce 6800 Ultra flashed to a 1.5v Leadtek BIOS. I've been running it at 485/1300MHz for a long time on water. I get scores of about 14500 in 3DMark03 with 72.20 drivers.

Now, here is the problem, on any driver higher than 75.90 my scores drop by about a 1/3! I went from 14500 to about 9000! I have tried several BIOS's above and including 75.90 with no luck. But as soon as I go back down to 72.20 everthing is fine. I usally would not care but the shadows on Battlefield 2 are pretty bad on any driver lower than 77.30. I do use Driver Cleaner every time.

Anybody got any ideas as to what the problem is?

I have no clue what the issue is but, I will see if I can try out the ForceWare v72.20 drivers and see if it makes any difference in speed on my GeForce 6800 GT. I will let you know afterwards...

It slows in all the games too, of course.

I still have to do this but I think it will be for the weekend... As I have no time to do it during the week due to reviews/news and forums to check. But I should have some time in the weekend and will get back to you.
