First of all, did you read my messages, cause you really should and do what I propose. Look for you this might be something new and you don't know what, but we have done this before and we have been able SLI the GeForce 8600 GT with the GTS in the past. But there are severl ways in your are in the worst case where there are many variables due to the different memory and voltages. And no, you just can't use the GT version BIOS and try that is won't work.
That is why we said it might be feasible, but only by tweaking both BIOS's on their own to get them aligned. But first do what we asked before or you can just figure it out on your own. We don't just try and hope, we narrow down the risk cause if it goes wrong you might not be able to revive the card yourself as you simply don't know what you are doing. And related to the bootable DOS media, we always use an USB stick and Google for and you will find what you need.
As you speak about flashing within Windows, never try that cause at that point you are in your own. Windows does allow direct access to the hardware so flashing from inside Windows is just looking for trouble as it always goes wrong. So you are warned, Google and you will find all you need to make a bootable DOS image that can be put on an USB memory stick.
