I'm in India and the vendor is in US, so I have spent quite some time already on shipping it up and down and don't want to nag the vendor again. You simply need to get SLI working between two different cards, one which is the old version with a 65nm GT200 chipset and one being he new version with the 55nm GT200b chipset, and that alone won't be that easy since SLI works optimal only when you have the same version with the exact same BIOS which won't work in your case. So we might get SLI to work, but it might not work optimal and give you random errors as we have already seen previously.
What brand are these cards, and what have you done exactly to match these cards up? Meaning what have you changed in the original BIOS of the GeForce GTX 285 to force it to become an ol GeForce GTX 280 edition? And an you share with us all BIOS's, meaning from both cards the original BIOS and also the modified one for the GeForce GTX 285 so we can check what is somehow missing withthe changes you made.
