EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT SC board, and some voltage tweak? - 2008/02/27 17:49 Is it possible to modify the voltage without actually physically modifying the PCb of the GeForce 8800 GT? I get stuck at 685MHz for the core, don't know why it's so low while other people can get well over 700MHz...

Re:EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT SC board, and some voltage tweak? - 2008/02/27 23:19 As already mentioned several tome son very similar threads, yes the GeForce 8800 GT can normally be tweaked as these card normally run at 1.05V and the BIOS allow to tweak the card voltage up to 1.10V, which is giving several person just that little more to reach 700MHz. Now just take into account that your GPU doesn't seem to the best one, thought not bad neither, and that is why it just can't reach 700MHz at the default voltage setting... That is just how it, some are just more lucky then others and have a tiny better G92 core on their cards.

Re:EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT SC board, and some voltage tweak? - 2008/02/28 01:24 i found some website that says it's up to 1.1v, but they don't say why. so how come only up to 1.1v?

Re:EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT SC board, and some voltage tweak? - 2008/02/28 12:56 Yes that would be correct, only up to 1.10V you can go via the BIOS and that is simple how it work from the NVIDIA perspective on voltage levels. By that we mean that each type of card, like all GeForce 8800 GT's have the same voltage circuitry which will work to set the voltage depending on the voltage indication in the BIOS, which is actually just a level number. The GeForce 8800 GT voltage circuitry does know only two level, which represent 1.05V and 1.10V. So even if you try anything else as voltage it will do nothing as not know by the power regulating circuitry. And if you state a website said that, well then they certainly have gotten that information from us.
