Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 1GB Vapor-X Style Review
Written by Mavke
Sunday, 14 June 2009

Sapphire are one of the most well known board partners of ATI and over the years have constantly produced some of the highest quality graphics cards the market has to offer. And already this year Sapphire have earned our highest award with a number of products, the most notable being the Radeon HD 4870 equipped with a whopping 2GB of GDDR5 memory. But Today we are going to be checking the Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 Vapor-X version. So this specific model of the Radeon HD 4890 slots in just above the basic card and below the Toxic edition which is clocked at slightly higher speeds. There is also an Atomic version of the board with a 1GHz core which we will be looking at shortly as well. - DriverHeaven

Gainward GeForce GTX 285 2GB Gamer Style Review
Written by Mavke
Saturday, 13 June 2009

Ever since the beginning of PC gaming in order to be able to play the latest game titles you always needed the latest technology in hardware from the CPU to the graphics accelerator. However it wasn't until a few years ago that certain game titles like Crysis appeared that even with the latest systems at the time no one was able to play with full eye candy on and in high resolutions. Even now after quite a few years Crysis is still considered to be amongst the most heavy games when it comes to hardware requirements. But even newer games have really high requirements and perhaps the most power hungry of all the latest game titles we have played is the Black Shark digital combat simulator. - RWLabs

ASUS GeForce GTX 295 Mars Limited Edition Preview
Written by Mavke
Friday, 12 June 2009

With the new Mars Limited edition ASUS presents us the fastest graphics card for gaming and enthusiasts. And therefore they had to design a completely new cooler fitting the design we already know from the GeForce GTX 295. This new cooler also has to be able to cope with much more dissipation power from the GPU because these are clocked just way higher than the ones on the reference GeForce GTX 295. Furthermore the card is limited to thousand pieces worldwide which will make this piece of hardware exclusive from the very beginning. What it does show once more is that ASUS is really thinking out of the box and being very innovative to come up with something to rule their competitors. - OcaHolic

ASUS GeForce GTX 285 1GB Gamer Graphics Review
Written by Mavke
Thursday, 11 June 2009

While there's no denying that anyone who is after maximum power will want the GeForce GTX 295, for many people the GeForce GTX 285 is going to be fine for the plain fact that most users don't have the monitor to really make use of such a powerful graphics card. We've always been pretty happy with this GeForce GTX 285, it costs a good chunk less than the GeForce GTX 295 and still offers some serious performance, which for most people is more than they need. Today we're going to check out the GeForce GTX 285 from ASUS and while we have seen the TOP version before, we'll have a closer look to see what happens when we want to save a few dollars by moving back to a stock clocked card. - TweakTown

Galaxy GeForce GTX 275 OC 896MB Graphics Review
Written by Mavke
Wednesday, 10 June 2009

The first GeForce GTX 275 graphics cards we saw came at the 11th hour in our testing of the new AMD Radeon HD 4890 card back in April, it is essentially one half of a GeForce GTX 295 dual GPU card with slightly increased clocks. While that doesn't sound too exciting it does create an high performance single GPU graphics card with a low price in comparison to the GeForce GTX 285 with the only real technical differences between these two cards being the memory bus width and frame buffer size. Today we are looking at a new Galaxy model which offers a custom cooler and overclocked specifications to offer better than average performance, for a more than attractive and competitive price. - PC Perspective

Evolution is the nature of nature. Everything evolves, man just continues to work to make everything that he has better. Every product gets replaced by a more efficient and more feature rich products. Such is the nature of things. Naturally, this applies to the world of technology where this evolution is very fast. Almost every year a technological product gets replaced by a newer, faster model. The graphics card industry is no stranger to this evolution. And the two big players, NVIDIA and ATI are always looking to outdo each other with faster and faster graphics cards. So as they say, competition drives innovation and that is exactly what it is doing bringing us greater products on regular basis. - AlienBabel

Palit GeForce GTX 275 896MB Video Graphics Review
Written by Mavke
Tuesday, 09 June 2009

We have always been a fan of the GeForce GTX 275, and there's really no reason not to like it though while it's nothing more than a rebranded model which can be confusing to some, the card does exactly what we want, offers good performance and sits at a good price point. Today we are going to check out a GeForce GTX 275 from Palit and while it doesn't carry the Sonic naming scheme which tends to peak our interest more, it is still unique in the cooling department. This really is the better side to improve upon when it comes to releasing a video card, as overclocking can be done yourself. While you can replace the cooler without too much drama, you instantly void the warranty which is best to avoid. - TweakTown

MSI GeForce GTX 295 Graphics Card Version Preview
Written by Mavke
Monday, 08 June 2009

Since the launch of the GeForce GTX 295 series ATI has done little to nothing to combat the card and while the Radeon HD 4890 is a very good card, the price of it doesn't put it anywhere near the level that the GeForce GTX 295 is at, nor the GeForce GTX 285 for that matter. Today we will be checking out MSI's version of the board and like every other one we have looked at there hasn't really been anything done to the card. This is due to the general design of the card, it's not easy to mix it up in the cooling department since it essentially sits between two PCB's. Today we will be seeing how it performs against some of the top single GPU graphics cards from both NVIDIA and ATI as competitors. - TweakTown

Albatron Radeon HD 4770 Video Card Version Review
Written by Mavke
Sunday, 07 June 2009

We are looking at the Albatron Radeon HD 4770, which is a middle class video card with the newest ATI graphics chipset and will compare it in both synthetic and games benchmarks to see how this card stands overall. This is also the first attempt from ATI using the newest 40nm process which is the next step into the future. As such they are gaining some experience before rolling this out to their upcoming high-end new generation graphics cards. Next to that it comes at a low price tag, which will give them an edge over de competition and renew the battle on the mid-range segment. Will it be able to dethrone the Radeon HD 4830 which was the best price to performance video card for quite a while? - ShopTalk

Galaxy GeForce 9800 GT Low Power Express Review
Written by Mavke
Saturday, 06 June 2009

The graphics processing unit is a compulsory hardware for a computing system, either discrete or integrated. Today integrated GPU's such as Intel G45 are much better than those in old days but if you are building a true gaming system then a discrete GPU will be much better. That is also the reason why you have these graphics cards which come with more power than you could ask for to bring all those games alive. As such you have NVIDIA who is bringing discrete graphics chipsets on the market so we can all enjoy game play like never before. Today we have a quick look into the Galaxy GeForce 9800 GT, a decent performance graphics card which comes with fair price and performance. - Hardware Bistro

XFX GeForce GTX 275 896MB Classic Version Review
Written by Mavke
Friday, 05 June 2009

NVIDIA released their GeForce GTX 295 earlier this year which had two GT200 cores on the same graphics card. And when ATI released their Radeon HD 4890, NVIDIA decided to compete with the GeForce GTX 275 which is based on one of the chipsets used in the GeForce GTX 295 dual GPU based graphics card. This brings us the advantage of 240 stream processors combined with the memory architecture of their GeForce GTX 260 improving performance while costing less than the GeForce GTX 285 version. Somehow this is a rather special product due to using specs from both known products to create something in between. Today we are looking at the XFX GeForce GTX 275 Core edition card. - Motherboards
